I was recently asked to look after my neighbors’ house across the street while they were out of town. I couldn't help but notice that their minimum water bill, with tax, is 98 baht per month. Mine is 246 baht. When I asked a Thai national why there was such a large difference I was told that my neighbors are billed by Phuket City, while my bill comes from Kathu.
Why is Kathu water so much more expensive than water from Phuket City? Doesn’t everyone on the same soi get their water from the same place?

The PPWA supplies water all over Phuket, except in the two Phuket City tambons (Talad Yai, Talad Nuea), where Phuket City Municipality supplies it. Our rates are not the same as theirs. You can check our website to find our water rates in Phuket: www.pwa.co.th/service/tariff_rate.html.
If you want us to check your water rate, please contact us. We can tell you why it is so expensive.
For more information visit the PPWA office at 106/137 Wichit Songkhram Road in tambon or contact Tel: 076-319173, 086-4784055; or Fax: 076-319176.
