Hungry in Phuket? It’s kebab time in Rawai
Phuket Gazette – Friday, January 28, 2011 5:04:00 PM
KEBAB TEAM: Omer Demir (white t-shirt) with the Kebab House team.
PHUKET: THE Kebab House in Rawai has been open for a little over a week, but locals are already dining there and love it. Here are a few reasons why...
Location:
Simple. Kebabed between Serenity Terraces and the turnoff for Friendship Beach on Wiset Road.
The Döner Kebabs (chicken 85 baht, beef 120 baht):
Many a mouthful of spit-roasted meat pleasure. Hearty portions, fresh yogurt and salad. You’ll be back once you try one.
Meat-free fetish:
Vegetarians won’t be disappointed here and most dishes can be tailored to suit. Try the Eggplant Salad Babaganush (80 baht), or the Carrot Salad with garlic yogurt (90 baht) for a healthy dose of delight.
Happy to host:
Turkish-born Omer Demir and his Polish co-owners are likeable lads and great hosts. They know the food they sell and greet patrons with a smile.
Menu surprises:
Tas Kebabi (120 baht) beef stew with potatoes is worth a mention, as is the Iskender Kebab (140 baht).
Lunch and dinner:
Open from 12-9:30pm every day, except Wednesdays.
You can contact the Kebab House restaurant on 085-577 0490 or 087-920 1400. Ask for Omer Demir.

Gazette Poll
The final design for the Bt450mn underpass at the Bang Khu Intersection in Koh Kaew has been approved. Although Thepkrasattri Road will be widened to eight lanes in the area, southbound traffic will still have to wait at a stop light before accessing the bypass road. How will this project affect traffic flow in the area after it is completed?
