French expat killed in Phuket motorbike crash
PHUKET: A French expat was killed in a motorbike accident on Kamala Soi 8 on Saturday night.
Maximilien Grau, 35, crashed into a utility pole at high speed and was not wearing a helmet at the time, said Lt Col Navin Petchan of the Kamala Police.
“We believe that he lost control on the bend in the road and swerved into the pole. He sustained fatal head injuries in the crash,” Col Navin said.
Mr Grau’s body was taken to Patong Hospital.
“We are waiting for the results of a blood test to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the accident,” Col Navin said.
