Phuket Town Post Office opens Drive-Thru service

PHUKET: The main post office in Phuket Town has launched a new drive-through service so that customers no longer need to leave the comfort of their cars to pay bills or send mail.

“Our new Drive-Thru Post service is more convenient, and there is no need for us to provide more parking spaces,” said Sukrit Phayu, acting director of the Phuket Post Office.

Customers can use the service to send normal letters, registered mail, domestic EMS mail, domestic parcels and pay utility bills, Mr Sukrit added.

The opening ceremony yesterday was attended by Governor Nisit Jansomwong and Nattapong Satirak, the assistant vice president of Region 8 Postal Bureau.

“Our next priority is to inform people of this service and gain their trust,” Governor Nisit said.

“People need to know that Thailand Post provides a standardized service, and they must have faith that their items will never be lost in the delivery process.

“This has been a major problem for the postal service, and I am sure they will do their very best to find a solution.”

The Drive-Thru Post window is open on regular office workdays, from 7:30am to 3pm.
