Phuket photo contest: Capture the essence of Patong
PHUKET: The Patong Municipality has announced its “Blissful Beach@Patong” photo and video contest in hopes of attracting more tourists to the party town in the lead-up to this year’s high season.
“This is the first time we have held this contest. We feel that it is a great way to introduce and advertise Patong Beach to new tourists,” said Boonsong Navarak, acting chief of the Patong Municipality Administrative Office’s Tourism Development and Promotion section.
There will be a category for both photography and videography each with a top prize of 7,000 baht.
The winners will be selected based on how well they capture the town and the lifestyle of its inhabitants, Ms Boonsong said.
They will be selected and announced at the tourism season opening ceremony held on November 1 on Patong Beach.
Those wishing to submit a piece can do so from October 14 to 25 at the Patong Municipality Office at 12/3 Soi Ratchapathanuson.
