PHUKET: The New Year celebrations on the island starts at 6pm today as the annual “Colorful Countdown Phuket” for 2013 kicks off.
The event, put on by the Phuket Provincial Administration Organization, will be held at Chai Field (
map here), opposite Provincial Hall in Phuket Town.
The event will host a variety of top Thai artists, including Thai-country rock singer Bao Wee, who will be taking the stage at 11pm on December 30.

8pm: Phuket Governor Maitri Inthusut opens the ceremony
8:30pm: Winner for Thai folk singing contest announced
8:40pm: “Blue Berries R Siam” stage performance, followed by Thai folk band “Sexy-girl”
9:50pm: Southern Thai style singer “Kee Bacon” stage performance
11pm: “Wit Hyper” stage performance
December 306:30pm: “Samkong Super Dance” stage performance
7:30pm: Colorful Countdown Phuket 2013, followed by Thai modern singing contest aged13 to 18
8:30pm: “Baitoey R Siam” stage performance, followed by “Sexy-Thai”
9:30pm: Winner for Thai modern singing contest announced
9:50pm: “Samkong Super Dance” stage performance.
11pm to midnight: “Bao Wee” stage performance.
December 31:6pm :Phuket Governor Maitri Inthusut leads the countdown for the last sun rays of 2012.
6:30pm: Award ceremony for both singing contests
7pm: Chen from the boy-band “Nice to Meet you” performs.
7:30pm: Stage performance from the top three singing contest, both categories
8pm: “Them Nawa” stage performance.
9:20pm: Girl band “Neko Jump” stage performance
9:50pm: Pop-rock band “Am Fine” stage performance
10:30pm: “Neko Jump” and “C-Quint” stage performance
