PHUKET: Go Eco Phuket, known on the island for staging the world’s biggest reef cleanup
earlier this year, are gathering again with fellow community members, Kata Municipality workers, Hilton staff and an estimated 500 students from local schools for a Kata-Karon Beach and reef cleanup.
Participants in the event will target both the beaches and the associated reefs that are along the Kata-Karon coastline, on December 4.
Registration will start at 8am and five longtail boats are expected to leave for nearby reefs with divers and debris bags around 9am, Kerry Leach from Go Eco Phuket told the Phuket Gazette
Space for divers will be limited explained Ms Leach, so those wanting to take part must book in advance by contacting the organizers through the Go Eco Phuket Facebook page.
“Beach cleaners are more then welcome to show up the day of the event,” she added.
