The man, Chrtstopher Alan Ware, had been travelling with them, and was questioned twice by police this week, the second time as a suspect yesterday, before being released (story here).

“The DNA results of the semen do not match that of the friend,” Sgt Apichet Cherdguea reported.

“We have to start looking at the case again,” he said, without indicating whose the DNA was.

The bodies of British tourists Hannah Witheridge and David Miller were found on a beach at Koh Tao, north of Samui in the Gulf of Thailand, about 350 kilometers south of Bangkok, early Monday morning.

The couple, both 24, suffered extensive injuries to the head and neck (story here).
