Top 10 Coffees in Phuket

Phuket has developed quite a coffee culture with new cafés opening every week all over the island. The Thais love their iced coffee drowned in sweetened condensed milk whilst the western favourites are gaining in popularity. You’re now hard-pressed not to find good coffee around Phuket. From a 50 baht latte to some of the more fancy decors, here are our favourites.

In no particular order…

Doesn’t get much more local than this. But add an enterprising Kathu local, a great source of coffee beans, a splash of art and some traditional Thai music blaring out of an old transistor and you have the quintessential Thai coffee experience! Free wi-fi, homemade treats and they even do local food for the weekends. Not a lot of parking along the skinny streets of Old Kathu but it’s worthy of a visit next time you’re around the area.

  • 9. WeCafe, Chalong

There’s a really cool back story to this place (now two locations with WeCafe 2 now open in Samkong). Thai run and managed with excellent coffee of all styles. They also grow their own hydroponic lettuces which they sell around Phuket which you can see from the windows of the coffee shop. If you eat lettuce on the island it probably came from here!

  • 10. Cafe Sino, Kathu

Right on the main intersection of Phra Phuket Keaw Road where the blue dCondo is, Cafe Sino is very a very ‘Thai’ coffee shop but with great coffee, cakes and they even do food throughout the day. They serve all the Thai coffee blends along with the western favourites. Complete with Thai background music and homemade treats, it’s a really homely experience. Indoor and outdoor seating and next door to a car wash, so get your caffeine fix whilst getting your car cleaned.
