1200 athletes heading to the Laguna Phuket Triathlon

During the Governor’s Meet Press event yesterday (September 13), the annual Laguna Phuket Triathlon race updated its progress before the big race day on November 19.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Laguna Phuket this year, Laguna Phuket has arranged the 1st Laguna Phuket Tri Charity Fun Run on the day before the triathlon. The charity run will feature a 5 kilometre and 10 kilometre route aiming to support Kao Khon La Kao (‘take one step each’) charity run project, a partner of this year’s charity event.

“We expect about 1,200 runners worldwide including many leading pro triathletes to attend the Laguna Phuket Triathlon this year while another 1,000 attendees are expected for the charity fun run which altogether is expected to generate approximately 74 million Baht for the Phuket tourism industry,” said Prapa Hemmin, the Event Director.

“Both of the races will take place on the stunning routes of Laguna and the Thalang district area, a key factor that brings back runners from all around the world.”
