Four hour wait to get through Don Mueang Immigration

Immigration officials are investigating how passengers had to wait for more than four hours at Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok. One passenger says she took four hours and 20 minutes to clear immigration and noted than many were getting weak and suffering because of the poor ventilation. People in the queue were posting that there were only 3 immigration staff on duty and that there appeared to be more than 2000 people waiting to be processed.

A lady fainted at 4am whilst still waiting and one of the waiting passengers noted in a post that more Immigration staff appeared than they had seen all night to provide her medical attention and take her away.

Don Mueang Immigration have responded with a few excuses saying that the airport didn’t advise them of the flights that were arriving and also saying that the usual 45 second processing time for each passenger is now longer because of increased security measures.
