Karabi’s Bok Koranee Waterfall closed
Than Bok Koranee Waterfall in Krabi has been closed due to possible flash flooding.
The Chief of Than Bok Koranee National Park, Weerasak Srisajjang, has ordered national park officers to closed down the waterfall today (September 26) after muddy water was found along the swiftly flowing waterfall.
In front of the waterfall signage has been installed to strictly prohibit the entry with an officer stationed nearby to warn visitors not to get in the waterfall.
The amount of water in the waterfall has continuously increased and now has a muddy-like texture. In some spots, the water flows very swiftly because of the heavy rain during the past few days. The national park chief will evaluate the situation day-by-day to see when it will be safe to re-open the water fall.
Meanwhile, Krabi Marine Office has issued a warning for ferryboats to watch out for the stormy waves during the current frontal systems. Boats at each pier are being strictly checked for the rescue equipment and lifejackets which need to be equal to the number of passengers. Also, the weight and head counts are being monitored to meet with the regulation. Ferryboats operators must comply with the announcement of the Marine Office and not leave shore if the situation is risky.
