Surprise proposal at Phukethon
The mini-marathon runner at yesterday’s Phukethon, Pakornkij Kanchanaroj, made a surprise proposal to his girlfriend, Nannapat Saepua, after finishing the run together.
The groom has revealed that the couple are from Nakhon Si Thammarat. He is a power plant engineer and his future wife is a social work officer and they have been together for 9 years. The two families have agreed to hold their wedding in April next year. He planned the proposal with his friends and Phukethon staff who helped organise the surprise at the finishing line.
The couple reached the finish line at 7.45 am which is when Pakornkij brought out a big bouquet of red roses with a diamond ring, kneeled down and proposed to his girlfriend to the cheerful applause of the awaiting crowd.
“I chose today for the proposal because I love running and my girlfriend has joined me lately and started to enjoy attending running events as well. We want to be reminded that, apart from starting the new chapter of our life together, health is also a very important thing to take care together,” said Pakornkij.
By the way, Nannapat said ‘Yes’.
We hope yesterday’s finish line will be the start of a long and happy marriage together. Congratulations to Pakornkij and Nannapat.
