Board of Trade plans SME matchmaking fairs

BANGKOK: Thailand’s Board of Trade is inviting newly established businesses across the country to join a ‘Business Matching’ event in Bangkok. The event is aimed at giving SMEs the opportunity to meet consumer giants such as department stores and retailers.

The event will take place at the Bangkok Convention Center in Lat Prao on April 26.

Board of Trade Chairman Isara Vongkusolkit said that the event aims to help local businesses sell their products and give Thai entrepreneurs the chance to expand into Southeast Asia, particularly the CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam) markets.

The business-matching event is part of the government’s ‘Pracha Rath Project’ launched in January this year to stimulate domestic consumption, and to strengthen the country’s economy as slow global economic recovery is expected to hurt the Thai economy this year.
