Princess Yachts say ‘thank you’ in style

PHUKET: Princess Yachts Thailand held a lavish ‘thank you party’ at Phuket Boat Lagoon on Thursday evening in conjunction with the launch of the Princess Yachts South East Asia network.

The annual Princess Rendezvous started on the evening of March 22 before their cruise to Phang Nga Bay and Hong Island in Krabi on March 23.

Hundreds of guests attended the party with a traditional Thai welcome using the Glong Yao (long drum) to invite everyone to the opening ceremony. The show was followed by Glong Sabad Chai (Thai traditional drum dance) to indicated that the ceremony had officially started.

Managing Director of Princess Yachts Thailand Mr Vrit Yongsakul began the ceremony expressing gratitude for the support Phuket has offered over the past year.

“As with our previous rendezvous, the purpose of this night is to say thank you to all our friends and family for all your support over the last 12 months and specifically this year it is our pleasure to introduce Princess Yachts Southeast Asia, our newly formed network offering the Princess Yachts experience covering Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia,” said Mr Vrit.

“In particular, we are also truly honored this year to have Mr David King, the chairman and founder of Princess Yachts International, joining us for the “Princess Yachts S.E.Asia Service and Training week” which was hosted from 19-23 March for captains and crew in the Region,” he said

Mr David King, the chairman and founder of Princess Yachts International officially opened the event and gave a brief account on how the company was established.

“I am thrilled to be in Thailand for the very first time. Princess Yachths started in 1965 in the UK. We began with a very small warehouse and a 31 foot yacht,” said Mr King.

“Since then, Princess Yachts have been quietly rewriting the rules of luxury cruising. From our legendary Flybridge range and thrilling V-Class sports yachts, to our long-range Motor Yachts and ground-breaking M-Class super yachts. All are unmistakably Princess,” he said.

“Based in some of the most advanced marine manufacturing facilities in the world, we have built our reputation on quality, strength and integrity of design and build,” he added

“You know when you are aboard a Princess. It just looks and feels right,” he ended.

Princess Yachts will be available to visit during PIMEX being held from March 29 to April 1 at the Royal Phuket Marina.
