American yachtie dies on Angel Langkawi

PHUKET: Police have yet to confirm the cause of death of the American owner of the 25 million baht Angel Langkawi yacht yesterday. However, preliminary evidence is pointing toward a heart attack or other related health problems, confirmed Lt Col Boonlert Onklang of the Thalang Police.

James Edward Cross, 66, died while emergency medical technicians transferred him from his yacht to Phuket International Hospital.

“Mr Cross’s housekeeper, 31-year-old Gochakorn Laroonphan, called Phuket International Hospital after Mr Cross reported feeling pain in his chest,” said Col Boonlert.

“She told us that Mr Cross had been living alone on the yacht for more than eight years and that she had been under his employment for the last four of them.”
