Another man gunned down

RASSADA: A Kathu man was gunned down while riding his motorcycle near Phuket Rajabhat University around 1:30 am on Wednesday.

The man, identified by police as Panumas Chusawas, 23, was killed by at least four .38mm bullets while riding, with a friend riding pillion, along the Ban Kuku-Samkong road.

The friend was unharmed and notified police. He declined to reveal his name until the killer has been apprehended.

Investigator Pol Maj Chalermchai Hernsawas of the Phuket City Police said that Panumas worked at Yamaha dealership Likhit Motors in Patong.

Panumas was shot twice in the chest, once in the neck and once in his right leg. He also sustained a broken neck, Maj Chalermchai said.

His body was sent to Vachira Phuket Hospital for examination.

“We presume the motive for the killing was either related to a romantic relationship or a conflict with his coworkers,” Maj Chalermchai said.
