Blue Canyon Lakes Course to be redeveloped
MAI KHAO: Blue Canyon Country Club (BCCC) has announced that its Lakes Course will undergo upgrading from April 3 on, with the end of this year penciled in as the target date to reopen the course.
The Canyon Course will remain open for play.
The redevelopment of the Lakes Course follows the announcement in December last year of a “strategic partnership” between Murex, the club’s owner, which has struggled with debt for many years, and RREEF Global Opportunities Fund II LLC, a real estate investment fund managed by Deutsche Bank’s DB Real Estate arm. The investment will total some 2 billion baht (US$51 million).
Sia Leng Yuen, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BCCC, said of the course redevelopment, “This is only the first part of our overall master plan to position Blue Canyon in the forefront of all the integrated golf and country club resorts in Asia.”
