Breaking news: FC Phuket 3 – JW Rangsit 1

PHUKET: Excellent teamwork led FC Phuket to a 3-1 win over Thai League Division 1 side JW Rangsit FC in rainy conditions at Surakul Stadium in Phuket this evening.

FC Phuket dominated the first half during a driving rainstorm that started just minutes into the game.

Goals by Niran Phantong and Ivory Coast player Nenebi Sylvestre at seven and 20 minutes respectively gave the Southern Sea Kirin a 2-0 lead at halftime.

It could have been much worse. FC Phuket totally dominated play and kept the ball in the JW Rangsit end throughout the first half, narrowly missing on several excellent chances.

However, a defensive blunder silenced the 2,000-strong crowd and brought JW to within one point early in the second half.

Scrappy play ensued, but FC Phuket scored the insurance goal at 80 minutes of the second half, when teen sensation Sarach Yooyen converted from inside the penalty area.

Results of other Division 1 matches played this evening:

PTT Rayong 0 – 0 Buriram
RBAC 0 – 4 Suphanburi
Bangkok Utd 2 – 1 Chainat

Tomorrow’s fixtures:
BBCU – Rajpracha
