British expat found dead at Kamala home

PHUKET: A British expat was found dead in front of his home in Kamala this morning.

A neighbor discovered Thomas Robert Putnam, 52, hanging by his neck from a beam in his front yard.

“We received a call from Mr Putnam’s landlord, Jarin Sattaman, whose father found him hanging in front of the house,” confirmed Lt Navin Petchjan of the Kamala Police.

Police found no signs of a struggle or that the home had been ransacked.

“Mr Jarin told us that Mr Putnam had been living in the house for five years and used to have a female friend stay with him. However, he had not seen her around for a while,” Lt Navin said.

The British Embassy has been notified of Mr Putnam’s death while police continue their investigation.

Mr Putnam’s body was taken to Thalang Hospital to determine the cause of death.
