Bypass expansion stems water supply

PHUKET CITY: Phuket Provincial Water Supply (PPWS) has announced that its customers living in areas to the south of the bypass road expansion project will experience reductions in flow rate until about May 25.

The reduced flow, about 50% on average, will result from a PPWS project to move water mains to accommodate the road expansion now underway by the Department of Highways.

Affected communities include those along sections of Wichit Songkhram Rd, Chao Fa East Rd, Chao Fa West Rd, Sakdidej Rd, Pattana Tongtin Rd and Chalermprakiat Ror IX Rd (the bypass road).

Sayan Wareearoonroj, Manager of the PPWS, advised those living in low-pressure hillside areas to store water when it becomes available in order to ensure a continuous supply.
