Dead body discovered by Phuket dive boat tourists
PHUKET: A body was found floating in the sea by passengers on a Phuket dive boat this afternoon. The gruesome discovery was made in the waters between Koh Racha Yai and Chalong pier.
Chalong Police told the Phuket Gazette that Marine Police have retrieved the body, which arrived at Chalong Pier about an hour ago.
The boat, a Dive Chalong Sea Sport vessel, was returning from a trip to Koh Racha Yai.
Company owner Virti Lehtonen says there were about 10 Finnish tourists on board when someone spotted the corpse, wearing a t-shirt and “speedos”, floating face down in the water.
Mrs Lehtonen said they could not be sure, but it appeared to those on the boat that the body was a male foreigner.
