PHUKET TOWN: Mang Por Lor Kluen – “Wave-Playing Dragonfly” – beat the All-Star Actors 3-2 on Saturday in front of a large crowd at a special fund-raising soccer match between the two teams of Thai celebrities. Pop singer “Teh” Utane Prommin took the first goal for the All-Stars just before half time at Surakul Stadium in Phuket Town. The Dragonflies came back strongly just minutes into the second half, equalizing through a goal from Kiatisak Udomnark, better known as the comedian “Sena Hoi”. Pop singer Somchai “Tao” Kemglad, however, quickly put the All-Stars back in the lead. Unfortunately for the All-Stars, Piyapong Pew-on was playing for the opposition. Piyapong, a former professional and one of the country’s best footballers of all time, scored two more goals, alowing the Dragonflies to scrape a narrow victory over the All-Stars. The match, organized by Tambon Thepkrasattri to raise money for public works projects in the area, drew a big crowd, creating an hour-long traffic jam in front of the stadium on Wichitsongkram Rd.
