Drug-dealing duo arrested in rubber plantation

THALANG: Police raided a home in a rubber plantation in Baan Bangtak on Tuesday after undercover officers bought 10 amphetamine (yaba) pills from the occupants. Inside they found a further 65 pills hidden in a rubber-tapping can. A 41-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were arrested and charged with possession and dealing in illicit drugs. Police said the two admitted buying the pills for 70-80 baht apiece and reselling them at 110 baht each to workers and students. The undercover action and raid followed the arrest in Thalang on Sunday of six schoolboys found in possession of the drug. The boys admitted they had bought the yaba from the couple in the rubber plantation.
