Meth-dealing mum busted in Phuket

PHUKET: A meth dealer told Phuket police yesterday that she was selling drugs in order to financially support her baby.

Natthanicha Wongsopha, 34, was arrested in possession of 170 ya ba (methamphetamine) pills when police raided her house in Thalang at about 4pm.

“She told us that she was selling the drugs so that she could have enough money to take care of her baby,” said Maj Ritthichai Choomchuy of the Phuket Provincial Police. “On February 25, she bought 400 pills from another dealer. By the time we made the arrest, she had offloaded most of the drugs.”

Ms Natthanicha confessed to selling the drugs and was charged with possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell, confirmed Maj Ritthichai.

“Based on the information we received from Ms Natthanicha, we expect to make several more arrests,” said Maj Ritthichai.
