Phuket education fair this Sunday

PHUKET: More than 20 Phuket-based Thai, bilingual and international schools are taking part in the Phuket Private Education Fair at Central Festival this Sunday.

The schools will be occupying booths at Central Festival’s Event Hall on the 2nd floor from 11am to 8pm on February 14, giving prospective students and their parents the chance to meet school representatives and find out more about curriculum, facilities and fees.

Among the kindergarten, primary and secondary schools occupying booths at the fair are Thai schools Darasamuth, Kajonkiet Pattana, Kajonkiet Suksa, Thai Hua, Muslim Wittaya and Dowroong Wittaya.

International schools attending include the British International School (BIS) and Phuket International Academy Day School (PIADS), which is currently offering ‘early bird’ student registration from nursery to grade nine, and accepting students for its International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme starting next academic year (2010/11).

PIADS is also offering full and partial scholarships for students with academic excellence or special talent in performing arts, swimming and football.

Higher education institutions exhibiting at the fair include Assumption University of Thailand (ABAC) and Phuket Technical College.

Students from each of the exhibiting schools will be putting on performances throughout the day.
