Phuket’s Nai Harn buzzing with bikers

RAWAI, PHUKET: Nai Harn Beach was bustling with bikers last night as riders from around Phuket kicked off the first annual Nai Harn Bike Event.

The two-day party welcomes all biking enthusiasts and showcases the most impressive motorcycles on the island, whether traditional or modified.

Hogs on show include Harley Davidson Choppers, Fat Boys and Heritage Softails, as well as a host of Honda, Vespa and other vintage scooters.

Gates open at 6pm, with entrance priced at 100 baht.

All proceeds from the door will be spent on providing new trash cans for Nai Harn Beach.

The lakeside park in front of Nai Harn Temple is hosting the event, with four live bands taking the stage each night between 7pm and midnight.

Organized by nine Phuket motorcycle clubs – the Scan Hogs, Mang Moon, Chalong Riders, Herr’s End, Free Wheels, Warlords, Born to be Wild, Reggae Riders and the Heep Heep Riders – the hope is to make the party an annual event supporting local green community initiatives.

Friday’s events include a group ride through Chalong, Kata and Karon in the afternoon followed by “adult games” at the night parties.

Food vendors will offer cheap dining options, with large outdoor tables and chairs set up across the venue.
