PHUKET TOWN: An Immigration Police officer from Surat Thani, working in Phuket on assignment, had his jewelry and his gun stolen from his hotel room at the S.T. Hotel on Sakdidet Rd on Saturday night. Pol Lt Parichat Jaturonphan, of Phuket Town Police Station, said that Pol Capt Sudjarit Vongsakate was staying at the hotel with his family. Lt Parichat said, “He [Capt Sudjarit] went out for dinner with his family and then for a couple of drinks in the hotel bar. He returned to his room after midnight to find the door was open. He was staying in room number 1110, on the 11th floor, and he had put the valuables and gun on the bedside table,” Lt Parichat added. The items stolen were a 30-gram gold ring and a 45-gram gold necklace, together worth more than 30,000 baht, a gold-plated Buddha image and a 9-mm handgun loaded with six bullets.
