Tourist dies in motorcycle accident

KARON: Australian tourist Samantha O’Donnell, 23, died instantly in a motorcycle accident early Monday morning. Pol Capt Sanae Panmee of Chalong Police Station said, “Ms O’Donnell was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by a friend, Craig Eades. They were riding back from Patong at about 2 am. “He tried to overtake a Road Tran Tours coach on the corner in front of the Phuket Ocean Resort Hotel. The motorcycle and the bus collided. “Ms O’Donnell’s head hit the road and she died instantly. Mr Eades was not injured,” he said. Pol Maj Sanae said that the coach driver had been charged with dangerous driving and that Mr Eades will face the same charge. Ms O’Donnell’s body has been sent to the Australian embassy in Bangkok.
